The Rev. Dr. Benjamin P. Snoek is Senior Pastor of the Washington, D.C. Christian Reformed Church. He previously served in university campus ministry as a chaplain at Trinity Christian College and Asbury University. A proud Michigander, Ben graduated from Indiana Wesleyan University with an M.A. in biblical and theological studies and a B.S. in worship ministries. He earned his Ph.D. in theological studies from Columbia International University, where his dissertation explored worship practices in the chapel programs of Christian colleges and universities. As a student and researcher of evangelical theology and worship, Ben is fascinated by the ways in which community worship practices—particularly those in the chaplaincy contexts of Christian higher education—reflect and shape our faith commitments.
An ordained minister in the Christian Reformed Church in North America, Ben has served congregations in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and the District of Columbia across different denominations, including the CRCNA, Reformed Church in America, Wesleyan Church, and United Methodist Church. He is also an active string orchestra composer with award-winning music published internationally.
